IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
Aged three I arrived home from nursery school brandishing a drawing I'd made and determinedly told my mother I was going to draw and write stories for a living. Fast forward thirty something years later, almost 20 of them spent working in animation, I realised all my work was commercial. I needed to begin working on my own creative ideas, so I began building my own illustration portfolio and writing children's stories and comics.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS…
Alongside my own creative work, I continue to work within a variety of roles in animation; including art direction, character design and layout for children's TV, storyboarding, and animation. My clients include BBC1, Cbeebies, CITV, Channel 4, S4C, Nickelodeon, Picasso Pictures, Scholastic, Macmillian, DDB, Style Library, Milo Creative, Mr Berwyn, the National Carriage Museum in Porto and AGM Presents. During my career, several of the animation projects I have worked on have been nominated or won BAFTA'S, recently “Brexited” was shown as part of the the London Film Festival and other film festivals around the world.
For over 10 years I have taught animation film making techniques at Central Saint Martins, City Lit and Cambridge School of Visual Perfoming Arts and run stopmotion workshops at the Roundhouse, Camden. I’ve exhibited my art work In New York, ( Too Art for TV) and in London, (We Built This City’s, Best of British). In my spare time I mentor young film makers and volunteer as a jury member for the Royal Television Awards, Cardiff Animation Festival and the Celtic Animation Festival.
