HONGERTOCHT 1945
Hongertocht 1945 is a coming of age, adventure story based on the experiences of my aunt and her sister growing up in occupied Holland during WW2. As the story progresses we see the relationship between the two sisters develop as they need to rely on each other to survive. It was nominated for the LDC Work in Progress Graphic Novel Competition, 2020.

My process for Hongertocht 1945 began by exploring ideas for what the all the characters who appeared in the story. Once I had drawn them It helped me develop their personalities whilst I wrote the script. Hongertocht is the first time I created a script in advance, previously I have drawn the panels and the developed the script at the same time, which helped my organisation.
