BY THE LIGHT OF THE Moon

Based on a text by Zoe Ingram, I created a series of designs to illustrate her children's story as an assignment for Illustrating Children's Picture Books, an online course run by Make Art That Sells double page spread was influenced by the time I spent teaching in Sri Lanka. I lived in a rural village close to shore with the jungle nestling close behind the school house. This illustration is evocative of the balmy evenings filled with animals calls and the smell of night blooming flowers. In the distance you can see a Poya Full Moon Festival procession
